I figured no one could ever understand "my" pain. I was downright rude to people who talked about "their" pain. After 3 years of being chronic and talking to other clusterheads, I've actually learned to be far more compassionate about other people's pain - regardless of the source. I've also learned that I have it good compared to some other folks.
I don't see it as a contest of who hurts worse -anymore.
