I didn't have the block that you had, but doc said he could if the ones he gave me didn't help. yours is more into the neck.
The injections I got were steroids injected right into the face and head, every 2 weeks the last two cycles. The injections stopped, over time, a year long cycle I was having and the last injections stopped a 6 month cycle.
They are called nerve blocks...but gave me cataracts in both eyes from the steroids.
He goes slow with the medication so that it gets in the tissues to do its work. The only problem I had is that you don't want to move with the needle in your face!!!
He would do blocks two different places under the eye, two in temple and one over the eye, sometimes into the head also.
All of these I had done NOT during an attack as my attacks came at night.
The last cycle the attacks were coming mostly during the day (a big change for me) so I got to go in ONCE during an attack..."this hurt like HELL!!!!Like pain on pain!!!"
He put me on 02 right away and got the injections ready. Whenever he went in with the needle it was like he was "cutting me with a knife!!!" My head and face get sore during a attack. It was terrible to have it done during an attack and try to stay still!!!!!!!! I had tears and moaning the whole time. He said I've never seen you so bad but he never gave me the injections during an attack before!!!
It hurt like Hell each place he did but I could tell it was starting to cut back on the pain when he was done!! After 45 mins he came back in and gave me one more as the temple I was still having slight pain there...then it was gone too!

I hope that you have good luck with yours, sonya. The doctor who gave me these the last two cycles has left town so I don't know what I will do the next cycle since you really need to have someone who knows what they are doing to do these!! I think damage can be done if they don't know what they are doing!!
