I take lithium and it takes 7 to 10 days before it starts working. Until then it's the oxygen tank to the rescue. Prednisone works differently for different people. It will not break my cycle, but while I am taking it at a level of at least 30 mg a day, they stop. When I stop taking the prednisone they come back, only MUCH MUCH stronger. The first few after I stop the prednisone are ALWAYS 10's and they are ass kickers. My advice is work with the meds a little longer, see if your doc will give you the oxygen as a back up. The prednisone will work as a temporary shield but sometimes the payback isn't worth it! Luv you and hoping the best for you.
