My cluster attacks have been going on about 10 years the first 2 years the attacks were bad enough. After that they would also have me rolling on the floor in pain. Luckily I live 2 blocks from work and could get a quick ride home or to the ER or Home. After numerous attampts at relief including a 3 week stay at the clinic in chicago I was finally refered to someone for the pain managment aspect. After using methadone (increasing the dose slowly for a few months the frequency of my attacks were down from 4-6 each day to 10-14 each week. (Mine last about 3 hours per attack.) It was hard to find someone to try this kind of therapy but it so far is the only thing that has allowed me to work again and function 60-70% of the time. I know some strongly critisize the use of opiate therapy but it works really well for me and with very few if any side effects. Thanks Mike L
