Taste buds messed up: Verapamil side effect?

I just started taking Verapamil a couple of days ago. Since then, I've noticed that food (and even water) just does not taste right anymore. The prescription information from the pharmacy doesn't list this as a possible side effect. I get a slightly metallic/sour taste, which makes me instinctively wonder whether everything I eat might be going bad. Any of you out there taking Verapamil experience anything like this?
