I used to use beer as the ultimate test to see if my cluster (my macho side won't let me call it a "cycle") was over. If I didn't have a headache for a day or two I would down a beer. 1/2 hour later no headache, cluster was over. 1/2 hour later a screaming HA, wait a few more days and try again.
