I made my first post last night saying that my husband had started taking Zomig and that so far it was helping, but last night he had another "10" and we spent another night and early morning at the ER. Ironically, we live about 20+ miles from the hospital and his headaches usually start to subside by the time we arrive. However, if we return home without visiting the ER, often the headache will start again in a few hours. Last night they gave him Toradol (spelling?) and later Demerol (big mistake-it took away the headache pain, but made him very sick and "stoned"). Now, we're worried about a rebound. It's a tough weekend to try to see a doctor...we're both physically and mentally exhausted. I know we're probably lucky he has been in remission for 4 years prior to this cluster, but don't know how much more we can take. It's the unpredictability of these headaches that is so difficult to deal with. Just needed to vent a little...thanks for listening and thanks to those of you who responded to my previous post. It's comforting to know there are people out there who know what you're going through.
