just reality, Paco.

I'd like to add a few comments, just to make sure yours don't get mis-understood.

Quitting drinking and drugs won't cure the Clusters.

Not drinking WILL (in almost all cases) prevent triggering them during cycle. I like my nightly scotch, but I'm smart enough to lay off it when I'm in cycle. That isn't to say that not drinking will end the cycle, but it will stop inducing CH.

Forget rebounds...the real problem is that drugs (by which I assume you mean opiates) don't do squat for CH. Stop letting him indulge in a delusional treatment of the pain and start treating the cause.

There is no all encompassing, one size fits all treatment for CH, but combos of lithium and verapamil or neurontin and verapamil work great for many. Imitrex is highly effective as an abortive and O2 is at least, if not more, effective.

Ask your hubby this "If the drugs work, why do you hurt so bad? And if they don't work, why are you still taking them? Do you like the pain? Or do you like the high?"

And if he isn't willing to do anything...I mean ANYTHING to stop the pain of CH, either he doesn't have CH or he's so far gone in his drug and alcohol induced fantasy that your best bet is to leave, or at the least have him put into rehab.

Sorry to be harsh, but drastic situations require drastic solutions.

KTSSU,
T
