Watched a tv documentary several years ago on the Columbian cocaine industry. They soaked the coca leaves in gasoline to extract the cocaine, removed the leaves, added lime to neutralize the acids, then dried the cocaine/gasoline mixture.
(I wouldn't try this with Tylenol #3's though)
