When a new series starts i go on 1200 mg lithium, 300 mg pills taken 4x a day. When a headache starts it's two cafergot and the trusty oxygen tank. I'm a 40 year old male episodic. I get 2 cycles a year, running 8 to 12 weeks and this treatment has reduced by 80% both the number and the severity of my headaches. The lithium levels have to be monitored closely by your doctor as it can become toxic at too high a level. I'm sure you'll get a dozen other treatments from others on this board.
