No experience with tegretol for Clusters, but my mom took it years ago when she had trigeminal neuralgia (pain is similar to clusters--extreme!). It helped a little for awhile, but pain did return. She ended up having the trigeminal nerve blocked and has been pain-free since:) Lee is taking carbatrol (similar to tegretol) for another disorder and was taking it when this latest cycle started, so it obviously wasn't helpful to him. Have you tried verapamil? Lee has had 2 CH-free nights after being on it (and imitrex)for 2 weeks...of course, we don't know if it's the meds or just nearing the end of a cycle. Either way, we're so grateful for the reprieve! Now we're trying to figure out why for some reason his blood pressure has skyrocketed...neuro thinks it may be an interaction between verapamil and another drug he's taking. Anyone with this problem? Thanks!
