Seems OK as a starting dose. May need to be gradually increased until it is effective. People go up to 480, 600, 700mg and even higher sometimes to get control of the CH. But it's best to establish the lowest dose which will work. Sometimes the current dose becomes ineffective and then has to be increased to regain control again. I have heard it said that the SR sustained release form of Verapamil doesn't always work as well as the immediate release form - does anyone have any experience of this one way or the other? Good luck with this - there's a very good chance you will find relief with this drug though you may need a higher dose. Some people have had a good effect by combining verapamil and lithium if these drugs won't work on their own.
