Am new to site myself, but as for your question concerning IQ & memory. I, after having (3) surgeries for my CH's, have had no problems in the IQ department, but the memory has at times left me in such thing's as conversations-- will be in middle of a story and have to sometimes ask what i was talking about to get me back on track.
It's not to often, but when it happens, if your around people that don't know of your disease it is somewhat embarrasing, and if anyone ask's what the problem is you explain and in most cases they are very understanding. Remember this is after surgeries.
Before surg and having CH's without med's etc. the only time i had any problems was during HA itself and that 's self explanitory for us.
If at all possible DON'T do the surgery thing ; to many side effects & med's you would not believe.
Hope this has been of help. Ask me anything I've been through it all in 28 years.

Rodger
