If you search the site archives, you will find several discussions about using capsaicin in various forms. Rather than stuffing my nose with cream or spraying peppers into sinus cavities, I prefer to place a few drops of hot sauce--like Tabasco--under my tongue. I have aborted several attacks by holding the sauce under my tongue for about five minutes. The principle of using pain to fight pain is the same, except with hot sauce, you don't feel the pain if you keep it under your tongue. Don't get it on top of your tongue or on your lips, or you will be cursing me. Here's a link to a discussion on the benefits and dangers of capsaicin use.
