Here's a couple of ideas. Have him see if the Dr. can give him some physician's samples of Imitrex or Maxalt (they're expensive so unlikely).
The company that makes Imitrex has a program where they will provide FREE Imitrex... I think for a month or so. Check their website at http://www.glaxowelcome.com/pap/index.htm
