This may be old hat knowledge to you but I'll post it anyway just in case.

Rebounds are generally caused by drugs that contains analgesics.

The explanation is this:
The body part that malfuctions when you get a cluster responds to the drug. You get a cluster, if the drug works then the body part responds. Agreed?

The more clusters you get the more of the drug that you take, slowly building up an immunity. Evetually, the body part that is malfunctioning becomes so used to / immune to the drug that any time that you're not taking the drug, the body part will malfunction by its self
