About 2 years ago, I tried an Imitrex shot when the beast hit me, and nothing happened. But this way into the cluster, for I had been trying O2 for 20 mins before that. Also, I'd had a few beers that night. But this was no regular cluster. It lasted 2 and a half hours, and the combo of Imitrex and extreme pain made me throw up about 5 times during the attack. I thought I was gonna die. I think I almost hoped I would.
But to console you, this has never happened since. I gave up on 02 because I simply can't concentrate on breathing during a cluster, in fact during the extremely painful ones I have a tendency to hold my breath. However, Imitrex has since worked great every time. This was an isolated incident.
Although..thanks to lith, I haven't needed to use a shot in month. Now THAT is a good medication. ;)
