Hi Margi, and everyone else,

Well, I tried the frozen washcloth ( in a plastic bag) and it helped him some, so I went to the drugstore and got some of those cold gel strips that are intended for kids with fevers. They seem to soothe him some.

As for the migraine vs cluster thing, I am aware of the differences. It seems that he gets both kinds, and that makes it even harder for him to deal with! Yesterday the agitated cluster period seemed to stop and then went into a full blown migraine, complete with smells, light sensitivity..the works.

Today, though, he is pretty normal, just afraid as can be of going to bed tonight. I have been doing alot of reading in the last couple of days, and shared some information with him today.
Finally, I think the correlation between the oxygen and the potential effect it has on the headaches, ultimately makes sense to him. We were in Pikes Peak, Co this summer, and he had a headache that was cleared up by several bottles of water...we never made the correlation before!
So, he is drinking a full glass of water about every half hour, and has decided to throw away the cigs.I hope that helps. He's tried to quit smoking for years with varying results, but always goes back to them.

I guess the one good thing about this headache period is that finally, there is something that he has decided is worse than the nicotine withdrawl, and if it might help at all, he is willing to try it.

Wendy
