From what you've written, it sounds like CH's. Each one of us have different symptoms and different times that the attacks occur. I guess the only thing that is the same is the intense pain.
I can only give you what I've done to try and fight them -
Keep a daily diary of what meds you take and when you take them, when the attacks occur, how long they last.
Print out the info on this site about the treatments, clinical features, etc (click on "fantastic Info") Keep a copy for yourself and give another copy to your Dr. to read. Check out the other links also.
Try the easiest and simplest meds first. I use oxygen, Cafergot (ercaf), Lidocaine and Imitrex (usually in that order) to fight this thing. This works for for me, but everyone is different.
There is hope for this, and you have a lot of support here.
