Hang glider pilots have been using welding O2 for years for high altitude flying. The gas is the same, the regulations on the containers are different. Ask your welding shop the history of the container providing the O2. Usually, they have only been used for oxygen.
Does chewing on ice/snow work for anyone? Giving myself an "icecream headache" stops the onset of a CH about half the time if I catch it early enough. I assume its due to the vaso-constriction caused by cold. Seems pretty funny to find relief standing barefoot in the snow at night, when its 10 degrees outside, shoving as much snow in my face as I can (my significant other really appreciates it when I come back to bed with extremely cold feet).
