My sister, who has been taking prednisone for more than 2 years to cure her temporal arteritis, has very little appetite. She has never been fat.
But she looks "fat" with the round face and extra
stuff the prednisone causes.

Soon she hopes to taper down to a maintenance dose of only about 2-3 mg a day as opposed to the 60mg necessary at the start of her illness. She fears she will be wrinkled and flabby, but feels it is better to have saved her sight and her life by learning to tolerate all of the miserable side-effects of prednisone
(things like thinning of bone density, etc.)
