there are a lot of aspects here to consider.

Luke came on a bit too self-assured.

Several people reacted a bit too aggessively.

Both are wrong.

Pred never caused any weight problems for me, but when I took it, I was 30. About the time I turned 45, I learned that I could no longer eat and drink anything I wanted without regard to my weight. The rules that apply to someone Luke's age (which I presume to be late teens or early 20's from his GPA comments) don't apply to those of us a bit older. I had a 30" waist from high school through roughly the age of 40. Since then, it's grown to 31 and now 32, with a pot belly. I've not changed my lifestyle, I've just aged.

Luke, it isn't all about willpower. Everyone else, it's not all about arrogance. Luke is young and therefore passionate. Some of his points make sense, some are youthful bravado.

It's time to return to the tolerance and understanding this board was once known for. We used to be able to be tactful (as annemarie has been here). Let's do it again.

KTSSU,
T
