Excess cortisone in the body, whether natural or introduced (Prednisone), produce moon face and central obesity (not arms and legs). I have worked with many patients with cystic fibrosis who ate very little and gained weight while on Prednisone. Part of the reason they were put on the Prednisone was to help them gain weight.
