My husband was diagnosed with CH Friday but has suffered with them since he was 16 (he's 35 now). It rips my heart out when the cycle comes because I know that he is in great pain. As a nurse, I know about "comfort measures," etc. but it freaks me out that there is not a damn thing I can do to help him. Mostly a control issue on my part,HA. We spent Wednesday night at the ER (my workplace) and he got a shot of Nubain/Phenergan which didn't touch it. Then he was given Stadol/Vistaril which, mixed with the other, made for a very irritable man. BUT,neither one helped except to knock him out and the CH was still there when he got up the next day. Like I said, I work in the ER and after experiencing this, I have a whole new appreciation for headache sufferers of all kinds. I am wondering how having CH affects the rest of you (family stress,emotions,etc.). We were proud to find this site-now William knows he isn't alone in this.

Thanks for your time,
Karen
