Just to set the stage... psilocybe semilanceata is a cool weather mushroom commonly known as Liberty Cap. It is the species that Flash and others living in non-tropical environments collect wild rather than the psilocybe cubensis that grows in virtually every cow pasture in Georgia. It is every bit as illegal to possess as psilocybe cubensis.
"Front page stories of California newspapers have shown pictures of psilocybe semilanceata (thousands and thousands of them) growing right on the lawns of the State's House of Representatives. The very people who passed this law are growing mushrooms which contain psilocybin on the state grounds. Maybe if federal agents were to kick their doors in and arrest these members of Congress for cultivating a controlled substance....they might realize just how stupid and unconstitutional their own mushroom laws really are."
