I tell people two things: some docs refer to them as "suicide headaches" because of the intensity. That appeals to "head" people.
OR I suggest it's like opening up a paperclip--and then sticking the end in your eyeball. That may not convey FACT but most people get the idea that this is not an ordinary headache.
