It usually takes 1-2 weeks for verapamil to even start working so it's probably not losing its effect yet. But the best suggestion I can give you is to wait a little while longer and see if it is helping you. If it is, stick with it. If it's not helping enough then up the dosage (depending upon what dosage you're at now). Or mix it with something else. Lithium and verapamil is reported to be an effective mix.
