Could Mitral valve prolapse be a culprit in CH attacks? I have had CH for 20 yrs. and also was diagnosed with MVP. One Dr. told me that under periods of stress, fatigue or when immune system is compromised, that mv could become inflamed, not close completely, allow blood reflux in heart chamber, thereby reducing blood flow to brain, which causes arteries to dilate to compensate for reduced blood flow to brain, ending in vascular headache. My neurologist laughed at that one.
