At the start of a HA I'll do about 1 minutes worth of squats. As hard and fast as I can. Get the thighs burning and really huffing and puffing. Then sit down with an ice pack onthe back of your neck and deep breath. For me it aborts the HA in 5 to 7 minutes.
Don't know if it's the exercise or the deep breathing but it may help.
