at the high point of our avian adventure, we had 39. but some were finches and they multiply like rats. We had some gouldian finches, but of course, they don't reproduce like the others. They are the most colorful, and most expensive, and all the bastards ever did was mess up their cages. One time, we had a yard sale, and a few of them bought the farm and we didn't know it and this little boy came up holding a cage with 2 dead budgies lying on the bottom of the cage and he said, "Mister, are these birds asleep?" I nearly LMMFAO. "Yeah, kid... that's the ticket. Yeah, they're asleep, all right." After much prolific reproduction, we got out of the breeding end of it, as we were having to trade birds for bird food. But the name (my email, that is) kinda stuck.
