When I'm in a cluster, it's obviously very difficult to concentrate on anything, much less something like speech. However, often I will ask someone who understands my pain to talk to me during a cluster. I don't even have to respond. In fact I usually can't. I just try to focus on what they are saying(stories..."guess what happened to me today" works really well). Sometimes, this will help me alleviate a cluster...however to work, usually the cluster must've reached its peak already.
