What I tell other people - people who don't really care, who are in a hurry, who are not good friends etc., but who need an explanation:

"Hey, I have had migraines all my life but you can't begin to compare it. If I could I would have the migraines back, like a shot!"

You can make up your own variation.

If you are a mother (I sort of think you are not... smile), you can say you'd "rather have two breech births in a row".

Or you can pinpoint something very painful that other people can easily relate to - like an apex resection, or broken bones and no ambulance for 2 hours, scalding coffee over your hands, things like that - if they happend to you personally, of course.

Another good thing is not to call them headaches. If I really need to impress I call it a neurological condition...

Hope some of this works for you. Oh, and if "friends" leave you for they are "just people you happen to know", not friends.

Walk in beauty with friends who care, annemarie
