I hear you! I've been through hell the last 3 weeks. They prescribed so many narcs including stadol which just made me so drugged ot and increased my attacks that I thougt I was going to die. Finally after 4 ER visits and demanding 02 treatment after a hospitalization, i did a follow-up with MY GP thinking she would never be able to help but she did. She witnessed the CH attack in her office . She got me under control with 02,gave me high dose predisone shot in the rear end, took away all the vicaden,valium,stadol,migranol which sent me to the hospital after the last time I used it. She kept me on large dose of verapamil - 300mg, upped the predisone dose to 60 mg a day after breakthrough occured and prescribed Immitrex again for me which a neuro told me I couldn't have for another 2 weeks but that was all that ever helped before the 02 .I also use naproxen for the temple pounds on left side and nose pain. She consulted a headache specialist who isn't even a neuro and they are working hard together to break tis cycle- so far it has worked well. I slept the last two nites for 6 hour stretch - no pain. The Dr. now claims all the narcs can contribute to CH attack just like alcohol can send you into hell fast. I feel so good again. She promised to help and she has. She's getting flowers today along with her nurse- an angel of mercy who showed me massage therapy on my hand for trigger point relief
Hang in there and search it out. Demand the help, not always neuros are best at least in my case. They just left me hanging. She couldn't believe that for 3 weeks no one thought to give me Steroid shot or Immitrex NS or injection!!
