On 9/16/00 I had oral surgery simular to an Apicoectomy on tooth #20 to remove a forgein object from my jaw bone. The procedure involved drilling out about 2-3 mm of my jaw bone under the tooth. Immediately after the surgery I was numb for 6 week and when the feeling returned to my face I expereinced a great deal of pain.

It is now 2/17/01, and I still have a constant dull ache around the surgery site and my lower front teeth ache. I have been to all sorts of doctors, oral surgeons, and now am on my way to the Mayo Clinic on 2/19 to see if they can help.

I read about the Stellate Ganglion block and it appears to be focused on helping with arm, leg,lim pain. Can the block help with myofacial pain, neuraglia of the face, mandibular nerve pain?(these are all diagnosis I have heard for my condition). Is the nerve block eventaully permanant after several treatments?
THank you..
