Asked recently about the reason for no 2mg dose of the jabs - and it's the cost of licensing that dose that's the prob. They'd have to go through the whole re-licensing process again - ridiculous but true apparently!

Also the injector kit itself is not as expensive as is might seem. We get refills here - just the bit that goes in the case - but one chemist who got them for me found that by improting the whole thing from Italy it was cheaper than the refill in the UK - a bizarre world!

Was very puzzled by Chuck's remark below about your Imigran prices being high due to our prescriptions being capped. The difference is made up by the NHS (National Health Service) here, not by the drug companies themselves. There's no way that our getting the jabs for the price we do makes any difference to the price in the States. It comes out of the general taxation fund.

For info I get 20 jabs per scrip (many as necessary - no limit other than the two per day one) for the normal scrip charge (around $10), but you can get a pre-payment certificate which covers all drugs for a year at about $120.

I really feel for you over there - wish it could be different, but seems even less likely now I gather.

All the best,

S
