I was going to reply anyway, as though I agree there are always bad examples, chemists over here have a very good reputation for picking up mistakes by doctors, and in many cases give considerably better advice. There are occasional publicity campaigns to encourage us to ask the chemist rather than the doctor.
By the way, to the Simon who posted the original comment on this thread, is there any chance of using a surname initial as well as the "Simon". I'm very proprietorial about my name having been around every day since ch.com's first month! Cheers!
