I am a pharmacist and work for a drug company. I would only use the expired Imitrex in an emergency
(not that a CH is not an emergency!). The expiration date is set at the point the drug begins to loose potency when not stored according to the labeling (ie below 84 degrees, etc). If the Imitrex is over 12 months old I would definitely pitch it.
I am having my second bout with CH, just began after dinner 3/17. First bout was about 3 years ago for only 5-6 episodes. Dr gave me Imitrex yesterday and it worked!!!, but I still have that 'feeling' it could start again.
I will contact Glaxo/Cerenex for further info.
Take Care, Steve
