I also work the graveyard shift. Actually I rotate each week. Days, swing, days, graveyard, repeat. It's not the night that brings the clusters. It's the sleeping (or lack of) that does it. My cluster always starts 45 minutes after falling asleep. It doesn't matter if I sleep during the day or during the night. When working a rotating shift it's easy to get your internal clock screwed up and a clusterhead has to be very careful about getting proper sleep.
