Some doctors get this BS from the infamous migraine trigger list, to which everything was added in the last hundred years what a migrainer thought might be a trigger.
I don't know if all, a majority, a minority or only a few migraine people get triggered by caffeine.
But after reading about 79500 posts on this board, I know that only a few, if any, Clusterheads are triggered by caffeine. On the contrary, it helps many Clusterhead in aborting attacks, on its own and by speeding up the action of other meds. There was even a report from someone who avoided all caffeine during remission in order to have a greater abortive effect from it during a cycle.
As Simon has put it recently, it is convenient for some doctors to tell you: "avoid coffee, coke, chocolate and you wont have these terrible headaches" :-((
