Just tried Imitrex pills for the first time last night. Had been trying to get my Doctor to prescribe for some time, but he was reluctant, maybe because I am at-risk for heart disease, though I don't have any. CH's started about 4 weeks ago and I cut out all alchohol but all that seemed to do was move them from the evening to the middle of the night when my sleep would be wrecked. He first prescribed Plendil (to block CH), Vicodin, and neotryptaline (an anti-depressant but here to help me sleep) but they turned me into a zombie and didn't help with sleep much. But got my recent blood test back and my cholesterol was at a rock bottom 143 so he finally prescribed the Imitrex.
Last night got cluster in middle of night took the Imitrex and 25 minutes later the cluster went away. Not bad. I'm impressed. I hate having CH run my life, but such is the nature of the beast.
