I have recently been in contact with a spore supplier who frequents the "Drool Donkey" mushroom hobbyist forum. His screen name is 3mshrooms.
I STRONGLY recommend that those looking to obtain spores check out his website. I have provided the link below.
Why do I recommend him over the three listed in Doc Charlie's guide?
1) His spore syringes are by far the most densely concentrated of all the suppliers. He uses an entire spore print for each syringe. Others will make several syringes from each print. The more spores there are, the higher the chance of quick germination and quick colonization.
2) His prices are VERY reasonable. VERY!
3) He ships from both a Canadian address and a US address. No need for the package to go through customs if you live in either country. He will, of course, ship to overseas customers as well.
4) He is very patient with "newbie" growers and very knowledgeable... he has been growing mushrooms since 1982.
5) HE IS A FELLOW SUFFERER.
From the brief description he has given me of his headaches, I think it is more likely that he suffers from a particularly nasty migraine variant than from cluster headaches, but the important thing is that he has been successfully keeping them at bay with the use of psilocybin mushrooms since 1982.
Let me point out that my recommendation is not meant to put down the suppliers listed in Doc Charlie's guide. On the contrary, the three he lists are very highly regarded in the mushroom hobbyist community, and are probably (along with Sporeworks) the ones most often used by the mushroom hobbyist community.
However, I have done a tremendous amount of research over the last several months in this area, and I felt that for the reasons listed above, 3mshrooms should be brought to the attention of my fellow clusterheads.
