I have had cycles previous to going chronic which lasted up to 6-8 months, but then would go out of cycle for weeks or months. I think my longest remission was a little over a year. Unfortunately, the beast revisited me hardcore in February of '98, and has been "The thing that wouldn't leave" for 3 years now.
