According to my Taber's Medical Dictionary,15th Edition,pg 1699, techopsia refers to "zigzag lines bounding a luminous area appearing in the visual field. This causes temporary blindness in that portion of the field of vision. Sometimes associated with migraine headaches, or mental or emotional strain."

Is this what you are looking for or am I way off base? It's the only thing I could find that was phonetically the same as what you posted.
