O2 tanks and any other high pressure gas storage medium very often have very small, undetectable leaks. While very small and not ordinarily a problem under normal usage, over an extended period of time the pressure can drop to zip. The solution is to periodically gage the tank(s); ie hook up the regulater and check the pressure. It should be around 2000 PSI for an unused tank.
