My new doc has suggested something very similar, based on success he's had with another CH patient.
Imitrex is now available in 100mg tablets. My doc says to take one at the first sign of an attack and then a second one 2 hours later. This combination has worked to abort the coming attack and ward off any others for 24 hours for his other patient. My cycle hasn't started yet, so I can't add my experience.
BTW - dosing guidelines vary from country to country. In the US, the recommended maximum dose of Imitrex tabs is 200 mg/day. This is the risk to this treatment - if it doesn't work, I will have "wasted" my daily max.
