I think the purpose of the MRI is to look for other causes for your headaches. It will not show that you have CH, but will indicate a tumorous growth,etc. (something physically abnormal with your brain) which also may cause very severe headaches. I had a CAT scan and an MRI done, and they were both normal. So then the diagnosis was: no brain tumor...guess you have CH!
