It's easy, but not necessarily intuitive.
Below the Comments box where you type in your message are three more boxes: Optional Link URL, Link Title and Optional Image URL.
If you paste the full URL (full meaning it includes the http://) into the Optional Link URL, you'll get it in your post....PROVIDED you also put something in the Link Title box. If you don't put something in Link Title, the link is actually there, but no-one can see it.
Image URL's don't require this, but they do require that the URL be directly to the image itself, and not just to the page the image is on.
