It took about 12-24 hours of 240mg Verapamil (slow release) to take full effect for me. Yes, they did start to come back after a month or so, but after 3.5 years of being chronic before the Verapamil, I experienced almost complete refief for a few weeks or so (lots of things have happened since then!!!!). In my opinion, and it is only based on my experience, if Verapamil is going to work (espeically with episodic sufferers) at a given dose, it should certainly take effect within a week. However, other people may well disagree! I do know that for episodics, Verapamil is much more effective!
