Stephen:

I have had the exact same problem for years and been to several doctors. I was treated for migraines (which they are not), to no avail. Saw an allergist last month and he diagnosed the problem as "vasomotor rhinitis," which has the symptoms you describe. I can also tell when a low pressure or cold front is moving into the area and have real trouble with humidity in the summer. He has me using a sinus rinse, a very strong decongestant (duratuss), and Atrovent, a prescription nasal spray. The headaches have lessened in frequency, but I still get them about once every 2 weeks. If you are having flare-ups once or twice a day, you might ask your doctor about this diagnosis and treatment.
