My experience with Verapamil (and other calcium channel blockers) has been very similar. I've taken them for about 6 years now, and I have often felt like they do "block" some of the pain sometimes. Also, how do I describe it? Sometimes I feel like I am getting ready to get a headache, then the medicine kind of kicks in, interrupting the headache's attempts to get stronger. Does this make sense? Also, this may be helpful. The last neurologist I saw told me that it takes anywhere from two to four weeks for calcium channel blockers to really start helping. Hope this info. is useful. Good luck to you.
